The Railway Division of the company has senior Engineers who have served in the Indian Railways and have a relevant wide experience in the entire system of design, construction and Project Management of Formation, Bridge Structures, Permanent way, Electrification, Signaling and Telecommunication.

Scott Wilson India has the most modern design and drafting and construction supervision capability for Railway Works for surveys of new lines, doublings and gauge conversion, Geometric Design and checking of route alignment and yards, integrated planning, design and construction supervision of Civil Electrical Signaling and Tele Communication jobs for Railways. Railway Division has trained professionals in computer aided design and proficient in the use of MX Rail and other Software.

  • Permanent Way

    SWI has the capability to handle all projects pertaining to design and construction supervision. The major activities of this section are highlighted below:
     

    • Survey for L-Section, X-Section of new lines etc.
    • Preparation of Engineering scale plans of station yards.
    • Preparation of track diagram, LWR diagram etc.
    • Project Management Consultancy for track works using latest mechanized handling equipment.
    • Preparation of documents for commissioning the project i.e. CRS’s sanction and for EIG’s sanction.

  • Signaling and Telecommunication

    The major jobs which are being handled by this section are as under:
     

    • Preparation of priced bill of quantity and detailed estimate

    • Preparation of Signaling interlocking plans, Selection tables etc.

    • Preparation of technical specifications

    • Project Management Consultancy for Signalling & Telecommunication jobs of new lines, Gauge conversion etc.

    • Preparation of documents for commissioning the project i.e. CRS’s sanction and for EIG’s sanction.

    • Preparation and submission of completion estimates and reports and Maintenance Manual.

    • Technical consultancy in connection with setting up manufacturing facilities for Railway Signalling equipment in India involving Market Survey, future trends and other related issues for various equipment.

  • Electrification & Electrical Works

    This section is handing the following major activities for design and construction supervision.

    • Electrification of service buildings and provision of air conditioning.

    • Lighting of platforms / circulating area / yards / foot-over bridges etc.

    • Electrification of staff quarters / colony roads

    • Modification of overhead power line crossing the track

    • Assessment of augmentation of load

    • Preparation of Power supply diagram

    • Preparation of Sectioning diagram

    • OHE , power supply arrangements, SCADA, etc.

  • Bridges & Structures

    SWI has to its credit extensive experience of providing consultancy services for design / Proof checking, project preparation and Construction Supervision of a number of bridges, ROBs, and other structures. In house expertise for undertaking assessment of Bridge Structures and recommendation of rehabilitation measures is another feature of the SWIL. The Engineers have large experience in dealing with these types of works and in putting up structures across operating Railway Lines. This section is handling the following major activities:
     

    • Proof checking and quality control assurance/ technical guidance for two major steel arch bridges over river Chenab & Anjikhad in Jammu – Srinagar rail link.

    • Proof checking of Bridges on a 3rd line project.

    • Project Management Consultancy for bridges on a 3rd line project.

    • Design and quality assurance consultancy for Road over bridges (ROBs)
